About Forrest Smith and Trout and Timber
F Forrest Smith, the owner, operator, and story teller extraordinare, has guided on his home waters for ten years. Apart from his guide career in Arkansas, Forrest spent five summers guiding in Alaska, 3 seasons in Chile, a brief stint chasing redfish in the southeast, and one season pushing dries in Missoula, MT.
From this experience, Forrest has taken many of the styles used elsewhere and modified them to his homewaters. Clients will see a plethora of rods and styles applied throughout the day. Picking apart pods, pushing big uglies (streamers) at the banks, and sight fishing to some unusually large fish are common a place. But if an angler does enjoy staring at a bobber you could probably twist our arms to do that too.
At Trout and Timber, we've found that it takes more than a bent rod to really engrain a particular moment into a fisherman's mental bank. It's the experience that trips our trigger.
